The BLK is heads and shoulders above the x39 in this capacity. CFE BLK falls in the middle of Hodgdon’s burn rate chart in the magnum pistol and 300 BLK subsonic range. One thing that the 300 BLK has over the 7.62x39 is subsonic. It also yields top performance in the 6.8 Remington SPC and the 7.62X39 mm Russian cartridge. Within 100 yards, they are about as alike as 2 peas in a pod. 308 bullet catches up with the x39 after 100 yards. I am comparing similar bullet weights here, 123 gn in the x39 and 125gn in the BLK. Anything you can do with the 300 BLK at the muzzle, you can do just a little bit faster with the 7.62x39. Well might as well get a SKS then.Īs far as the cartridge itself. How many other times have you heard that if you just put 5 orb10 rounds in them they work better. Look at the problems he is having with his. I am going to call on my friend TNTRAILERTRASH. The AR platform simply is not designed to shoot such a tapered cartridge. The AK and AR47 magazines have a pronounced curve in them. Might try it, but from what I have read, Lil Gun out performs it.Ĭlick to expand.I'll probably catch some flak because there are a lot of 7.62x39 fans here. The new CFE Black I don't know if I will be interested in. Still, it is very quiet even without a suppressor, and adequate for what I use it for. This is the worst grouping combination of the lot at 1 1/2 MOA. Lastly I use the Lee 230 gn cast pushed by Unique to about 980 fps. Again, Lil Gun will do the same thing and with less powder, but don't know if I will replace 4198 as I use it in the 7.62x39 and what my brother calls "shoulder breakers" in the 45/70. BTW, the A-MAX does not expand well at this velocity. Go through reloading manuals, bullet manufacturer loading manuals, etc. Check out 300 BLK Talk, youll find tons and tons of information on that forum for everything related to 300 BLK. Hornady no longer markets the 208 A-MAX and I am about out. CFEBLK - dirty but is accurate and performs well with subs. It's very accurate and as a bonus works in the MSR. I use 4198 to push the HDY 208 gn V-MAX to just over 1000 fps. I use 4227 to push 147 grain pulls for a cheap plinking round. In an effort to cut down on powder inventory I will probably only use Lil Gun when the 296 is used up. I am able to get just under 2400 fps with this one. A max charge of 296 pushes the same bullet about 100 fps slower. It pushes the 125 gn pill at close to 2200 fps. I too use Lil Gun, but I use a bit more powder. Like eet, my favorite bullet is the 125 gn SGK. Both are certainly accurate with the right loads. It has a 16.1 inch carbine length 1:7 twists barrel. But for some reason I am blocked in that section and can not post new threads.Īnyway I have 2 300 blackout rifles, a H&R AAC Handi rifle single shot, and a Frankengun build I did especially for supersonic. I understand that's where the rules say we have to post them. Well GoesBang, I was going to start a new thread for you in the loading recepie section of the forum.
